Daughter #1 - Graduation Week-End

Graduation Weekend started on Friday with the Honors and Awards Assembly. The seniors and juniors, all dressed in knee-length white dresses, start the day at the Junior-Senior Breakfast. After breakfast, family and friends gather at the school for the Awards Assembly followed by the long-standing Barstow tradition, Ring Ceremony. Seniors present the juniors with their class rings.

Sydney received several awards at the Honors and Awards Assembly. The Presidential Award for community service, the Knights Court Award for her involvement and leadership in sports and a coveted top award at the school for . This is a picture of her receiving the award from the brother of the boy for whom the award was established.

Daughter #1's graduation party was held on Saturday! What an exciting day. Daughter #1 celebrated with her best friend and had a party filled with family, friends, teachers and parent's work associates. The food was delicious, the cake was heavenly and the crowd was divine.

Baccalaureate was held on Sunday. A traditional day of caps and gowns with the opportunity to throw caps in the air. Grandmas, Grandpas, Uncle Doug and Aunt Teri joined our family as we celebrated.

Graduation Night finally arrived. The tradition at Barstow: ladies in floor-length white dresses carring a dozen red roses. It was a beautiful night although the air was a bit nippy as the sun set while we watched Daugther #1 receive her diploma. Once again, she was surrounded by family and friends to celebrate this joyous event.
