Paradise Island, Bahamas

Paradise Island wasn't much of paradise . . . I know, the woman on the move shouldn't complain. . .but, I will!! It was cold. I arrived on Sunday to beautiful blue skies and warm weather. Sir, was flying in from Paris so I checked us in and moved into our beautiful corner-room suite. I was dumbfounded when I first entered - we had a huge living room with bathroom, two balconies, a bedroom, dressing area and a doubled sink bathroom with a large tub and shower and separate toilet. I managed to enjoy myself before Sir arrived - he had the same reaction to the room! We had a lovely evening with 1000 other guest at the business conference welcoming reception. Sir was technically a "host" so I had to mind my p's and q's - so no dancing on the tables. It was a lovely evening really - food, music and dancing. We left and hit the casino with a few friends - I am sorry to say, we spent our whole gambling budget in one evening!

Well, after a nice evening of paradise in paradise, the weather tanked! Day Two was spent indoors. Sir spent the day in meetings and arrived at 2:30 to spend a couple hours with me before he headed to an awards banquet. We walked around the Atlantis grounds (with our coats on) and opted to veg in front of the TV for a while (we couldn't go out on the balcony - it was so cold). So, I did not much of anything the whole day. Went to lunch, went to dinner then went back to a bar at the marina with Sir and another couple - it was a nice quiet close to a nice relaxing day.

Day 3, well Sir headed off to another day of meetings promising to be back just after 2:00. Well, the sun came out - the wind died down and after working out, I headed to the pool - okay, so I had to wrap up in a towel to stay warm. At least I was at the pool! My friend came and found me, we found a place next to a rock that blocked the wind so we actually could take our towels off! We headed down the lazy river in tubes, but froze the whole way - the goosebumps didn't go away. We could only laugh and remind ourselves, the sun was out and we were in the Bahamas with no kids! Sir was ready to hit the water after he arrived from his meetings! I hit with water with him, we didn't last long because we were both freezing!!! Oh well. A long hot bath and a quick hot shower warmed me up enough go to the evening event. We had a great time - dinner, dancing, entertainers, band and drums - a great island bash - unfortunately, they had to move it inside due to the weather. We left when the party was over, walked into the comedy club and spent the rest of the evening laughing - I can't begin to repeat the jokes we heard.

Here it is Wednesday, I spent the morning sleeping in and packing us up while Sir was in his finally meeting. By 11:00 I was on the way to the airport and have spent the day making my way home. I do have a burning desire to go back to the Bahamas. I would not stay at the Atlantis and I would get out and explore the island. I knew this trip was not about exploring the island, it was about business, relaxing and spending time with Sir - he is by-the-way, off to Paris again.
