Grand Cayman #6

Another morning of the adults up and out of the room for a nice morning walk while Daughter 1 and Daughter 2 slept in. After rousing them out of bed, we headed for the Turtle Farm.

What a great day at the turtle farm—everyone loved the turtles. We started the day watching a turtle feeding. The oldest turtle was 73 years old and weighted 576 pounds! We had a great time picking out our favorite turtles. We headed next to the turtles that we could hold – boy was that fun! There were many more turtles to see before we headed to the “swimming pool” for lunch and an afternoon swim. While I swam with Sir, Daughter 1 and Daughter 2, Doug and Teri relaxed under the trees.

The shark feeding was a bust—they were not hungry—go figure that one! All of the divers had no interest in the snorkeling pond so we called it a day at the turtle farm and headed to the North Shore to go shelling.

We had a great time finding our way through the dirt roads to the beach. But what a show we had once we arrived. The “wind surfers” were amazing. The sails were colorful and the skill of the boarders was amazing. Some were flying through the air, however others were new at the sport and we watched them nose dive over and over. All pictures are courtesy of Doug! We also had a great time shelling. Teri, Daughter 1 and Daughter 2 had a great time collecting conch shells and choosing the best among their loot.

All too soon, we headed for home to get cleaned up and dressed up for our special evening out at The Wharf Restaurant. We sat waterfront and had a great seat for the Tarpon feeding. After a delightful evening, we headed home to get ready for another busy day.
